RECLAIMED WOOD FLOORS WITH ORIGINAL PRESERVED SURFACES

BEFORE THERE WERE SAWMILLS, FLOORBOARDS WERE MADE BY HAND AT GREAT EFFORT WITH PITSAWS. FOR CENTURIES THE RESIDENTS WASHED, SCRUBBED, AND BRUSHED THE ORIGINAL FLOORS, WHICH LEFT AN INCOMPARABLE STRUCTURE AND COLOURING WITH SIGNS OF USE.

HAND-PLANED NUT AND SPRING CONNECTIONS ARE ALSO VISIBLE WHEN RECLAIMED WOOD FLOORS ARE CAREFULLY SALVAGED FROM OLD LIVING SPACES IN ORDER TO RETAIN THE VALUE.

THE SURFACES OF BARN FLOORS FROM HAY WAREHOUSES ARE ALMOST ALWAYS LEFT WITH MARKS FROM HORSE SHOES, PITCHFORKS, AND TRACTORS THAT POINT TO A RICH HISTORY OF WORK.
